Vinyl Fencing

Vinyl FencingFence maintenance, repair and replacement can be a major (and on-going) expense for individual homeowners and large projects like Common Interest Developments, Homeowners Associations and Commercial Developments. In the last 15 years vinyl fencing (otherwise known as pvc fence) has become an increasingly popular long-term solution to normal wood fence problems.

Since vinyl fencing is U.V. protected it never needs to be painted. The color goes all the way through the material so scratches or gouges are almost invisible. The posts are made of 100% virgin vinyl and will never rot, shrink, decompose or rust like a wood or iron fence post. Although wood fence or iron fencing may initially cost less than vinyl fence, that advantage is soon lost because of painting, repair, maintenance and replacement.

Vinyl FenceBecause most vinyl fence manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty, after installation there is little to be done except maybe rinse it off once in a while (usually Mother Nature takes care of this!). Many associations are now able to remove fence as a line item on their reserve account because of the warranty. Graffiti is easily removed with acetone or lacquer thinner without harming the fence. Typically vinyl fencing is available in white, although some manufacturers offer tan. Dark colors are typically not available since they absorb the rays of the sun and would eventually damage the material. Unlike inexpensive plastic patio furniture, vinyl fencing is U.V. protected by 10 parts of titanium dioxide per hundred which is equivalent to a sun block rating of 38.

Flexible Rail Horse FenceRanchers and homeowners across the country have been converting to vinyl for 15 years now because of the strength, safety, longevity and low maintenance. Vinyl fences is the chose for a flexible rail horse fence.

Only in the last ten years have residential styles been available and in that period of time it has become the fastest growing segment in the fencing industry nationwide.

Thousands of homeowners and businesses are choosing vinyl over more traditional materials for several reasons:
  • Vinyl has five-times the tensile strength of wood and four-times the flexibility.
  • Vinyl fencing is created in controlled factory environments using stringent safety standards.
  • Vinyl is nontoxic and 100% recyclable.

"My wife and I were really undecided on our backyard improvements. We had talked to so many people. Finally we got the straight scoop from the people at J&W. They recommended the right product, helped draw up the plans, and even gave us the phone number of a local contractor. Totally painless for me, and my neighbors think I am a genius. Thanks J&W!"

John B., San Diego, CA

"We just finished replacing an old deck with brand new composite decking. It changed our whole yard. There were so many choices, but the guys at J&W Lumber helped narrow it down and we got exactly what we wanted. We're thrilled with the way it came out."
